He was born in Milwaukee, WI. His father, John J. Sullivan, was also a pastor and served congregations in Canada and Germany and later as a missionary in Russia.
Pastor Sullivan's vicar year was at St. Matthew's in Benton Harbor, MI. Following seminary training he served at Zebaoth in Milwaukee from 2001 to 2008 and then went to serve a mission congregation in Regina, Saskatchewan from where we called him.
He is married, his wife's name is Laura, the daughter of Pastor Robert Koester (he took pictures of our stained glass windows). She was a WELS school teacher but now stays home with their children.
Pastor and Laura have four children: Isaiah, Maria, Leah and Emily.
Fun facts: Pastor's mother is a native of Liechtenstein. Pastor's childhood was mainly in Canada and Germany. He used to scuba dive Lake Michigan wrecks but not for some time. He likes photography, hiking, camping and reading Biblical and Christian history books. Laura's hobbies are scrapbooking, hiking and camping and did scuba dive a few times with Michael before they had a family.
